Famous Suits From Tv Programs
Men's suits have been a part of our culture for as long as the country has been around. People have been wearing suits for hundreds of years and the very thought of a nicely tailored suit conjures up many images. This has been exemplified on many television shows and movies over the years.
One great example of this is the suits and especially the tuxedo worn by James Bond. James Bond can't be thought of without one seeing him in his perfectly tailored tux. Another great example of suits worn on television is seen on the hit series Mad Men. The suits worn on Mad Men, commonly referred to as Mad Men suits are commonly talked about.
The suits of Mad Men have brought back interest in tailored suits with thin lapels. This show has even brought back a lot of interest in more conservative colors and styles. This is much different than the way the hit show Miami Vice influenced suit wearers. The show Miami Vice had people wearing much brighter suit shades and caused a diversion from the classic white button down shirt to many other colors and styles.
The suits worn in the movie MIB are further examples of well known suit styles. This strictly formal and almost militaristic wearing of the suit immediately sets them apart as people working in government law enforcement.
Its quite amazing how much influence hit television shows can have over one of the steadiest pieces of clothing in modern history. Luckily, the suit has changed so much that people can't recognize it anymore. You'll note that button numbers differ, lapel widths vary, and some of the styles and designs have changed, but a suit is still a suit.
Another thing to note is that while their are lots of changes each year, the styles are basically just rotating and old styles will always come back to be the current style. For the above reason, I always save all of my old suits because I know that one day they will come back into style for me.
