This will obviously increase the interest that you pay back over the term of the loan, but may be useful to you by giving you more disposable income each month. However, if the majority of your debt is in credit cards, the increase in interest incurred by lengthening the term will hardly be noticeable as credit cards have no definitive term anyway, especially if you choose to only pay the minimum amount required each month, which is what most people in this situation are inclined to do.
So there you are. Debt consolidation loans can help to save you money and rid you of your credit and store cards. You do not have to be in financial dire straits in order to benefit from a consolidation loan, anyone can use them if they offer a benefit.
