Porsche Ipod Interface Adapter
A Brief history Of The Porsche Automobile
You have almost certainly heard of the Porsche automobile, and maybe you have even ridden in one or possibly own one. But you might not know exactly where the Porsche actually came from. With the story of the Porsche car, it is tough to say what the real beginning was. In 1948 the world for the first time came across a car by the name of Porsche, and two years later, in 1950, the Porsche 356 was launched in the United States by Max Hoffman. For the culture and viewpoint of Porsche to be understood, you will need to go back to 1875, when a son was born in the house of a tinsmith in Haffersdorf, a Bohemian village.
He was known as Ferdinand Porsche, and in spite of his technical genius wasn't thought to have the necessary discipline for the skills of engineering. When he was 25 he started being an automobile producer, his only conventional education having been a part-time stint as an engineering student inVienna. As an engineer he was brilliant, but he was also temperamental and with time moved from one leading German car manufactur to another. He was on the cutting edge of technology, and twelve of his designs were thought to be amongst the most historically significant. Whilst doing work for Mercedes-Benz, he was linked to developing the SSK series, which is regarded with awe to this day.
Porsche launched an engineering consulting group, later known as Porsche AG, after having to leave Mercedes. He was sacked mainly because he wouldn't go along with the engineering policies. A number of people with exceptional skills consented to join him, and he had a preference for racing cars and sports cars. One of the assignments among the countless that they landed, was to develop the luxury sedan, the Steyr, for an Austrian firm. A model was built, but the project was finally abandoned. Their particular group of people also did a lot of work for Auto Union, which has become Audi, the company that first developed economy cars with front-wheel drive.
The Grand Prix also reaped good results from the abilities of the team, with the supercharged V12 and V16 engines for the mid-engine racing cars having been developed by them. For pretty much a decade, they took over European auto racing, along with Mercedes-Benz racer. Sometime following that, NSU and Zundapp equally used their best-known designs. The rear-mounted engine, and the trademarked torsion-bar suspension, were one or two Porsche's prototypes. Neither company produced the layouts fast enough for Porsche, so he made a sale of the plan to the German government. Porsche overlooked the development of a plant at Wolfsburg, where his design finally went into manufacture. The whole world got to know it as the Volkswagen Beetle, but he referred to it simply as the Type 60 on his blueprints.
The automobile industry continues to be significantly impacted by the efforts of the Porsche engineering firm for over a 100 years now. Automobile design and engineering have benefitted from the long lasting and brilliant contribution of the Porsche family.
