A Brief Explanation Of How E Cigarettes work
Many people are aware of the benefits of electronic cigarettes, but few comprehend how these devices work. If asked to describe the inner workings of an e-ciggarette, people will stare at you blankly and mumble about water vapor. This post aims to teach you, the readers, how an electronic cigarette works. You will not be able to buy a lab and create your own product, but you will have a solid laymen's understanding of how this device works.
First, we will discuss how an e-cigarette works, in general. (There are three specific types of devices that we will discuss in depth later.) For now, we will stick to generalities. Most e-cigs are powered by a rechargeable Lithium battery that powers the device's atomizer and light that glows at the end of the cigarette to give an "ember effect." All electronic cigarettes have three main parts - the battery, the atomizer, and the nicotine cartridge. (Nicotine cartridges can be bought in varying flavors and with varying concentrations of nicotine.)
The atomizer is the part of the electronic cigarettes that creates the vapor that the user inhales into his lungs. Most atomizers consist of two main parts: the wick and the filament. The wick allows a certain amount of nicotine solution to flow into the filament portion of the atomizer. Here, the nicotine solution will be heated until it becomes a vapor and can enter the lungs of the person using the e-cigarette.Now that you understand the basics of an e-cig, we will go into more depth with the three different forms of e cigarette products.
The first type of UK electronic cigarette we will discuss is the one piece device. These types of e-cigs are generally disposable and come with a pre-charged battery. (You cannot recharge the battery or nicotine cartridge in a one piece - you will need to throw the whole thing away when you are done with it.) In this type of product, the atomizer, battery, and nicotine cartridge are all connected in the same place and cannot be reused or replaced. Disposable cigarettes are generally inexpensive, but the costs can start to add up if you smoke large numbers of these devices.
The 2nd form of electronic cigarettes that we will discuss is the 2 piece e-cig. (I bet you didn't see that one coming. *sarcastic.*) This type of e-cig has a rechargeable battery and a replaceable nicotine cartridge. You will need to replace the rechargeable battery and atomizer every ten weeks in any e-cig, but the two piece device takes care of your atomizer problem for you. You see, in this type of e-cigarette, the atomizer and nicotine cartridge are located in the same place. (The atomizer is inside of the nicotine cartridge.) Since you will need to replace the nicotine cartridge fairly often, you will be renewing your atomizer at the same time. This way, you only have to worry about having a few extra batteries on hand in case your e-cigarette runs out of juice.
The third and final type of cigarette we will talk about is the three piece e-cig. These products have a separate chamber for the battery, nicotine cartridge, and atomizer. These are high quality e-cigs, but you will need to remember to replace the atomizer and nicotine cartridge separately. Also, your atomizer may become stained or damaged if you change flavors of nicotine frequently, and you might find yourself tasting a remnant of your last nicotine cartridge after inserting a new one.
